Take the game with you

Uncle Predictor works in the browser on any phone - you don't need to install anything to play. But having an icon on your home screen makes a difference in a long competition: the game opens with one tap and you get notifications before every deadline.

Android - Google Play

The app is on the Google Play Store. Install it, sign in with your account and your notifications are up and running.

iPhone and iPad - add to home screen

There's no App Store app, but Safari lets you save the game as an icon that opens in full screen, with no address bar - in practice, it works just like an app.

🍎 How to do it, in Safari

Open unclepredictor.pt in Safari. It has to be Safari - in Chrome on iPhone the option doesn't appear.
Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow pointing up) in the bottom bar.
Scroll down the list and choose Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name and tap Add.
You'll get an Uncle Predictor icon on your home screen that opens without the browser bar.

Notifications on iPhone: after adding it to your home screen, open the game from that icon and allow notifications when prompted. If you always open it through Safari instead of the icon, the deadline alerts may not come through.

Computer

On a computer, just open unclepredictor.pt in your browser. In Chrome and Edge you can also install it as an app via the install icon in the address bar, which gives it its own window.

What you get with the icon installed

Deadline notifications. A daily alert when there are matches closing in the next 48 hours, and an alert 4 hours before a match you haven't predicted yet. It's the difference between racking up points and racking up zeros - see the mistakes that cost points.
Opens with one tap, without typing the address, which goes a long way towards keeping the habit over a whole season.

Your account is the same everywhere

There are no separate accounts per device. Make your predictions on your phone, check them on your computer - it's all the same account and the same predictions. You can sign in with email and password or with your Google account.

Common problems

I can't see "Add to Home Screen" on my iPhone

You're probably in another browser. On iPhone, that option only exists in Safari. Open unclepredictor.pt in Safari and try again.

I installed it but I'm not getting notifications

Check that you allowed notifications when the game asked, and that they aren't turned off for the app in your system settings. On iPhone, always open the game from the home screen icon rather than Safari.

The app is showing an old version

The app loads the published version of the game, so it's normally always up to date. If a bar appears saying there's a new version, tap it. As a last resort, close and reopen the app.

I'm on a network that blocks the game

Some corporate networks block the services the game relies on. The game detects this at startup and automatically tries an alternative route. If it still doesn't work, try mobile data and let us know via the contact page.
