Terms of Use
This is a courtesy translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
Last updated: 29 July 2026.
These terms govern access to and use of Uncle Predictor, made available at unclepredictor.pt and in the corresponding Android application. By creating an account and using the service, you accept these terms.
1. Nature of the service
Uncle Predictor is a recreational, social sports prediction game in which participants predict the results of football matches and are scored according to how close their predictions come to the actual results.
The service is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by FIFA, UEFA, the Premier League or any club, and claims no rights over the trademarks of those entities, which are referred to solely for informational and descriptive purposes.
2. Eligibility and account
- To create an account you must provide a valid email address, or sign in with a Google account, and choose a nickname.
- Each person may maintain a single account. Multiple accounts belonging to the same person distort the leaderboards and the calculation of the rarity bonus, and may be removed.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity carried out on your account.
- Minors must use the service with the knowledge and supervision of their legal guardians.
3. Nickname and submitted content
Your nickname is public - it appears in the leaderboards and in the leagues. Nicknames or any content that is insulting, discriminatory, obscene, that promotes hatred or violence, that impersonates another person, or that is used for unauthorised advertising are not permitted. Nicknames in breach of these conditions may be changed or the account suspended.
4. Game rules and scoring
The scoring rules in force are described in rules and scoring and form an integral part of these terms.
- Deadlines are final. Predictions close before the start of each match and are not reopened under any circumstances. Reopening a prediction after participants' predictions have become visible would confer an unfair advantage.
- Scoring is automatic, calculated from the results obtained by synchronisation with sports data sources.
- If a material error is detected in the scoring or in the data of a match, the correction may be applied retroactively, including after the leaderboard has been published.
- The rules may be adjusted between competitions, with effect for competitions that start after the change. Changes during the course of a competition are limited to error corrections.
5. Prohibited conduct
It is not permitted to:
- Create or use multiple accounts, fake accounts or accounts on behalf of third parties.
- Coordinate predictions between accounts with the aim of manipulating leaderboards or the calculation of the rarity bonus.
- Attempt unauthorised access to the service, its database or the accounts of other participants.
- Use automated means to extract data from the service, overload the infrastructure or circumvent technical limits.
- Exploit errors or flaws in the service to gain an advantage instead of reporting them.
Non-compliance may lead to the annulment of scores, exclusion from a competition or the closure of the account.
6. Removal of participants and leaderboard integrity
A participant's rarity bonus depends on the predictions of everyone else. For that reason, removing an account with predictions already recorded in an ongoing competition would retroactively alter the scores of third parties. In those situations, deletion of the account may have to be processed only at the end of the competition, without prejudice to the rights set out in the privacy policy.
7. Service availability
The service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. There may be interruptions for maintenance, failures of infrastructure providers or sports data sources, and network limitations beyond the service's control.
There is no guarantee that fixture, kick-off time, live result and score data will always be correct or updated in real time, as they depend on external sources. Prediction deadlines are based on the kick-off times known at the time; schedule changes by the organising bodies may affect those deadlines.
8. Advertising
The service may display advertising provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google. The data processing associated with advertising and the consent options are described in the privacy and cookies policy.
9. Intellectual property
The Uncle Predictor name, the logo, the application design, the scoring system and the texts published on this site are the property of the project owner. They may not be copied, reproduced or commercially reused without written permission.
The names of competitions, clubs and national teams belong to their respective owners and are used for descriptive purposes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the project owner is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, loss of profits or losses arising from the use or the inability to use the service, nor for decisions taken on the basis of information presented in the game.
Since the service involves neither money nor monetary prizes, participation gives rise to no financial expectation of any kind.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the update date indicated at the top. Material changes will be communicated within the game. Continued use after publication implies acceptance.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. For any question regarding these terms: unclepredictor@gmail.com.
